Frazier suction tips are designed for precise surgical suction through a relatively narrow lumen. ChicagoTip™ retains that familiar Frazier-style function while changing how the device manages clogging and how the disposable tip is constructed.
1. Clog frequency and clog management
A conventional Frazier suction can become obstructed by blood, tissue or debris and may require a separate cleaning step. ChicagoTip is designed to clog less often than conventional suction tips. When an obstruction does occur, an integrated retractable stylet can be advanced through the lumen to clear it.
2. Clearing without disconnecting
ChicagoTip’s cleaning mechanism is built into the suction device, so the clinician can clear the pathway while the tip remains connected to suction tubing. A conventional Frazier generally does not include this integrated self-cleaning mechanism.
3. Stainless steel distal tip
ChicagoTip Frazier uses a stainless steel distal tip. This is an important distinction for users searching for a strong disposable suction tip or a chip-resistant disposable Frazier design.
4. Disposable / single-use configuration
