Frazier suction is widely used when a narrow, precise suction instrument is needed. Clogging can interrupt that workflow. ChicagoTip™ was developed as a disposable self-cleaning Frazier-style suction that integrates the clog-clearing mechanism into the device.
How the self-cleaning mechanism works
Inside ChicagoTip is a retractable stylet aligned with the suction pathway. If material obstructs the lumen, the user can move the stylet through the pathway to dislodge the obstruction without removing the suction from its tubing connection.
Available Frazier sizes
9 Fr — CT209; Long version CT209L
10 Fr — CT210; Long version CT210L
12 Fr — CT212; Long version CT212L
14 Fr — CT214; Long version CT214L
Standard versus Long
The Standard ChicagoTip Frazier is 16 cm long. The Long version is 20 cm. The additional reach is intended for procedures where the operative corridor is deeper, including applications in spine surgery where longer access may be useful.
Stainless steel tip and disposable construction
ChicagoTip Frazier uses a stainless steel distal tip rather than an aluminum tip. Neuro Enterprises highlights the stainless steel tip for durability and resistance to chipping when working around other surgical instruments. The device is supplied as a disposable, single-use suction.
